Collection of talks by hotel leaders spreading ideas about what is important.
Hello Jay, how are you today?
My name is Veena, and I am the front office manager here.
I am fine. I am looking forward to learning about front office.
That is good. Before we begin, I wanted to tell you about some ground rules in front office.
Since the front office is a place where we make the first impression on our guest, you have to maintain good appearance and hygiene standards
I did learn about hygiene standards in kitchen, but I think it may be slightly different in Front office
The basics like taking a shower, shaving before work and all are same. However at the front office, pay special attention to your hair. Also make sure, your uniform is crisp
I will do that. Is there anything else I should know?
Pay attention to your breath. You will be in constant touch with guest. If you smoke or eat any food that may have an odour, make sure to use a breath mint afterwords.
I mentioned about uniforms earlier, also make sure you wear your name tag, so that guest are able to identify you.
What about a ring that I wear in my finger.
A simple engagement or wedding ring is allowed. Avoid large bulky rings. Also rings with gemstone and other stones are not allowed in this hotel.
Do you have a tattoo?
No, I do not.
It is okay then. Tattoo in areas covered by uniform is okay. However if you had any visible, I would have asked you to conceal it with some foundation.
And I do know that, i have to keep my shoes in good condition and polished.
Yes that is correct.
The first thing to learn in front office, is to maintain a good appearance. It is our chance to make a good first impression, and set the tone for a great guest stay
Our level of grooming and attention will communicate our commitment to standards. So make sure you follow great hygiene standards in front office.
Thank you for telling me about the grooming standards in Front office.
